The Harwell Computer Clock

I was very honoured to receive this commission. Made for Dr JR Acton to celebrate his 100th Birthday. The significance here, is that DR JR Acton invented the Dekatron Counting tube, which was the key component that allowed one of the first digital computers to be made, in this case the  Harwell Computer  later known as the W.I.T.C.H ( Wolverhampton Instrument for Teaching Computing from Harwell ) and now resides at the National Museum of Computing.  The work done to create the Dekatron tube also then lead to the development of the Nixie tube, and the rest they say is history!

The Clock is a faithfull reproduction of the entire computer in miniature, scaled down to fit on a bedside table where I hope it will be admired :)
