Pigeon Clock

Another nice family piece. I was given a pigeon racing clock that belonged to the clients father, and had been sitting the garage for years. He wanted something doing with it, so they could use it in the house and to give it a new lease of life.

The clock came in a solid oak case, so I cleaned that up and it also had the family name neatly painted on the top so I kept it and just got the tubes to appear behind. The original pigeon racing clock was clockwork, so I decided to make a feature of it and placed the movement in the centre of the oak box and then added a traditional clock front. The movement still runs, so you can wind it up and listen to it tick and also see the escapement working.

As a final touch, I added a lighting system to just add a bit more character to the piece.
